My wife has spotting (brown discharge) yesterday morning and this morning. she is now in her 5th week of pregnancy. is it normal? we asked a few relatives and friends, some say they did experience before, some say not at all. now we are both very worried.

Please Enlighten.

Go to the doctor as soon as you can, do not put it off, you could lose the baby for real, so go, you don't want your wife to have a miscarrage

And you're still going around asking family and friends instead of going to the doctor (only a docor's opinion matters in this case)? Stop wasting time and take your wife to the hospital before it's too late. When it comes to pregnancy what's normal to one woman may be something totally wrong for thee other. Pack your bags right now and drive to the hospital. I just hope it's not too late. God bless you and good luck.

I know light spotting occurs in early pregnancy but not all will experience it. But bear in mind, she's carrying a life in her. Do go to the doctor quick and check. Go to a gynae/woman clinic rather than normal GP. They will just screw up the whole thing and said it's normal. It's better to be safe.

in spite of a general opinion that spotting in early pregnancy is normal, it is actually not. It may not be of a great risk, but don't ignore it. it may be a sign of miscarriage danger.
go to the doctor and good luck!

GO TO THE DOCTOR'S

It could just be a hormonal problem

it's probably implantation bleeding...as long as it's still brown, there shouldn't be a problem...it's red blood that's a worry.
if you're really concerned, why didn't she call her ob/gyn??
