The top most wicket taker in the world is Shane Warne of Australia with 685 wickets in 140 matches and gave 17297 runs with a bowling avg. of 25.25 and best of 8-71with 36 5-wicket hauls and 10 10-wicket hauls.

He is followed by M MUralitharan of Srilanka with 635 wickets and G McGrath of Australia with 542 wickets.

If u talk about a particular test match & a particular inning of a test match, then it will be JIM LAKER of ENGLAND . He took 10 wickets by giving 53 runs in 2nd Innings & he took 9 wickets by giving 37 runs in the 1st Innings of the same test match against AUSTRALIA IN the ASHES on JULY 31, 1956. IOF U R TALKING ABOUT A particular player then SHANE WARNE , WHO has 685 WICKETS TILL NOW.
