Borrow an air compressor and stick the hose into the ground. Poke around with the hose until you latch on to each root and inflate it until it explodes. This is called "popping the cherry".

The best way is to dig them up. I know this will make a mess and is hard work but that is the best way.
What you can do though which is easier but will take time, is to drill holes into the roots that you can see and pour in some diesel, this will stop the roots in their tracks and rot them. The only draw back with this method is you have to keep topping up the diesel and it is not very environmentally friendly...

You need to hammer some rusty nails into the roots and this kills the whole tree.

uhh... use chemicals to stop it? Haha... pour it near the roots of the cherry tree...

you should have used tree poision to kil the tree.. i am not sure... should be copper sulphate or similar kind.. one green salt..
if you spray on growing roots.. every part of the tree would die. no more growth.. or use urea..(fertilzer) adequate quantity near the roots.. they plants will automatically die.

dig them out and make a pool instead....or go to a hardware store and get a suitable chemical that will kill every plant about
