Well Praise the Lord for that, as if the man donated land in order to have his name in lights then he donated it for the wrong reasons. If he was seeking the praise of men then he would be dissapointed. However if he was seeking the praise of God he will be rewarded. He doesent seem that poor if he had land to donate.
But you are correct there is a lot of politics in religion. However, when one comes to know Jesus, one gets life into perspective.

There are politics to religion, namely finance politics. If the first person's name disappeared it is because the only way the other people would make donations to the church was to get their names attached to the building. The church is in the business of serving the community and if to do so they have to make a deal or two they will. So yes there are politics in religion, there always has been. Every great temple was built because somebody rich paid for it. And the bible was written in so many languages because somebody rich wanted it. But does it not serve God's will to have people give up what they can and honor themselves if in doing so they honor their religions as well?

religion is free politics is not
religion is for who believe and is a good alternative
to how manage your existence
if you have a strong faith that is good enough
to believe in anything you want
an excellent contrast against any politics.
politics is like a prison where your life is under control
by something called social system must of the time a bunch
of people they tell you how do this and do that
all of this is hide under an hypothetical liberty
that perform other hypothesis called liberty of choice
but that is just an illusion because the only choice
you have is to accept what they tell ya...
However you have to very careful what do you believe
or someone can blame you to have antisocial personality
or maybe to have a tendency antigovernment I believe that
is the first step to be under consideration
of terrorist mentality however !!!!!
you have to accept the rules of your prison
there is not to much choice anyway that is when
the religion play its role.
moral the religion give to you a good illusion to see
the word with a different perspective
with a logical conseguence to believe everyone
can have a better existence of course in this case is required
a great faith and that can result very hard to find out.
thats why for many people is more easy to accept
the politics way cause is not required any personal involvement
except to vote and pay the taxes and sometime die in war
for the rest they will take care you just good enough to
have an acceptable existence.
nobody can be alive forever so who cares!!!
donation is something you do when you believe to have to much
or to gain electoral votes
however there is alway a logic explanation.

The poor man donated his plot of land for a common purpose but it was not publicly recognised. This is precisely what you want to complain. Had it been published, there would have been 'politics'. It is rightly not written any where as to who has donated the plot; because in religious matters unlike other social transactions the donor is not published because God's thing has come to God's direct use. The poor man was only a custodian till it was with him.
It is presumed that none of the other donors was also given any publicity. In case, he was ignored where as others were given wide publicity, it is not only unfair but unethical. Such discrimination has no place in the court of God. I think the instance you have cited does not disclose politics in religion or religion in politics.

Dear, this is the problem with words and names what we heard. We hear the name of Pharaos made Pyramids and Shajahan made Taj mahal and Bill gates made windows. Since the world wanted to put somebody's name to fame so that others will try for such kind of fame by building, donating etc. Think deeper. Does any of these names matters if you take 1000 years from now?
You be a realised person and let the media, religions and politics carry forward some names for them to remember. You escape from that trap. None of the names are real......think deeper you will reach at what I told you now. Is breathing happening because of you? breath breathes by itself....any credit you got because you breath? ...think about all that happenings around and find out the truth by yourself.....

Of course Religion was the first form of government a way to centralize people around a common theme and goal, and of course keep them in line. Pretty much every form of govt up until democracy was a theocracy. IE. the pope had to endorse all the kings of Europe, the Pharaohs were thought to be children of the Gods, one of the most clear cut cases is Judaism with the law that governed the people

There are three Holy Religions, and when I read the Talmud (Jewish Holy Book) I realised Judaism does not know Jesus Christ. Judaism hates Jesus Christ. They consider him the anit-Christ and they are waiting for their Messaih, however,Islam recognises Jesus as a phrophet and believe in all His miracles, the Virgin Mary is a sacred Virgin in Islam, while the jews consider Jesus to be a bastard,I was shocked by the comparison,Christianity is Closer to Islam, many verses in the Koran praises Jesus and the Virgin Mary, the jews, however, are considered "traitors" to the prophets and they are no longer the chosen ones, true followers of the Holy book of Islam have to respect Jesus, the Virgin Mary and Christianity because Jesus is considered to be one of the Holiest prophets of all time,Mohammed preached that to his followers, the more i read, the more i discovered the strong similarity of the three Holy Religions, there are verses in the Koran explaining how the jews tortured Jesus. Few people know this because they do not carefully read their Scriptures and because of the great pains which Jews have taken to deceive the Christians. Now that is politics!

A religion can influence a person's political beliefs.
Let us hope that free societies can continue to live without the government forcing beliefs on them.

23 Jesus looked around, and said to his disciples, "How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into the Kingdom of God!"
24 The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answered again, "Children, how hard is it for those who trust in riches to enter into the Kingdom of God!
25 It is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God."
