you mean the current speed while surfing? there are some freeware around that you can download for this purpose. alternatively, type "internet speed test" (without the quote) in a search engine, and you will be return with a lot of web site that allows you to check without installation.

Call your isp first and ask what speed your line is provisioned for. Ask also if they have any site of their own where you can run a speed test. It is better to run a speed test from their own site coz it connect to their server at once and request travel close to their server. It is also ok to run speed test from other internet speed test site but, though when you run the test, it makes a request from their server and then to the internet and passess different servers before it reaches your isp's server. While running a speed test observe also how many programs or applications you got running in the background. Ã.

when you are connected to the internet, logo of 2computers in the taskbar (near clock) apiars.
click on that to see your connection status.
& also when you are using download manager programs they show you how fast your internet connection is.
