Perhaps making states that are made up of a geography area or an economic area. Perhaps making all of Ner Egland one state eliminating several goverments and saving a lot of money. As an exanple Western Montana has little in commond with eastern Montana. The industries in both East and west are very diffferent

Redrawing of state lines is good to address the present geographical differences within the big states and small states with similar political set-ups with common boundaries. However, it will cost more the government for the update of all the records and systems. It should also be voted upon by all the people who will be affected.

Article 4/Section 3 of the US Constitution states that Congress cannot redraw the boudaries of any state without the expressed consent of the state. Therefore, redrawing state lines is highly unlikely to occur.

Cut off that liitle panhandle on Oklahoma and make it combine with part of texas to make another state( JEFFERSON)
then cut California into two states. Give south half back to mexico and fence out the other mexicans from the north half
Combine some of those itty bitty states on northeast coast to make fewer states but larger.( rhode Island etc)
Sell Vermont to Canada and also sell upper peninsula of Michigan.

This totally overlooks the premise of our country. If we are going to redraw state lines, why not eliminate states all together. Do you think the states of the European Union ever agree to their lines being redrawn? Why should we?

Your country is called the UNITED STATES. Your country is more or less made up of other little countries - how can you re-draw the boarders? Do you think that the countries of the EU will one day decide to redraw the boundaries?

The state borders are up to the individual states, the federal government has nothing to do with them.

I am intoxicated, beer, but no, our lines should not be redrawn. But I do think that if mexico had a revolution and became a true democracy, they could became a great nation.

I think we have bigger issues to worry about. Like aliens, energy, war, terrorists, the economy, etc etc.
