Do you feel ashamed for what we we are capable of doing to other humans to satiate our lust for power and hate?

Our inablility to see how those who suffer feel?

Our inablity to care for all without prejudice and help out those who are suppressed?

It is appauling to see how so many people on Yahoo! celebrate suffering of others as though it were something to be smug about!

I do not feel ashamed, as it is not going to solve the problem. Rather I go forward and help them to the best of my ability and organise other capable people to help the helpless. The suffering lot need our attention and care, and we should come forward to give our time and share our resources for their service.

Thank you for restoring a little bit of my confidence in humanity again. I am very ashamed of what the rich west does to humanity as a whole.

Lately, however, I have started realising a different truth. There are two sides to every medaillion.

I think that it breaks down like this: every "conflict" has two sides. And either side is waiting to be exploited by people. Those people are usually very rich and good friends of eachother. All that matters to them is the fact that will exploit that "conflict". The side that wins doesn't matter, because it is the same group of people who will exploit it.

Looking at it from this perspective we, the rich west, is just as much a victim as the rest of the world in the sense that we are pressured into playing the game in stead of looking for ways to stop it.

Am I still making sense?

I feel appauled and angry about the lack of empathy for the suffering of others in the world most especially by those who are in power or belong to military groups. The loss of one human life referred to as acceptable collateral damage to their cause is outrageous...those who consider it acceptable do so think that because it is not THEIR loved one.

Shame on civilization as a whole for allowing people to control our lives who have such little value for the individual right to life and self determination.

Shame on the sectors of the business world and lobby groups and those at the top of those groups who let profits come before the human life of any individual on this planet.

I volunteer at an animal look after and that i would not say i'm ashamed of being human, yet there are particularly situations I hate people for his or her mindless cruelty. yet I then look at those good those with whom I truthfully have the best fortune to artwork and that i'm reminded that there are additionally many remarkable people in the international. it particularly is slightly Zen-like, yet possibly you will possibly desire to objective to think of of each and every occasion or cruelty you bump into as a cosmic try of the thank you to do greater perfect and make the international a greater perfect place. in simple terms an theory.

I am with you completely! But the human ego cannot help but feed off of suffering. That is its function, along with self gratification of course. It is very sad; I so hope and pray that humans as a collective will someday develop beyond their barbaric tendencies. Strangely I have tremendous faith in the human heart....to overcome its dark shadows and realize its true potential. Heck, if I could do it then ANYONE can...and that is where my faith comes from i suppose. Humans are better than they have become, and it's more important than ever to believe this. What are we without our belief? Surely we are already extinct without it.

'Forgive them for they know not what they do.' (i'm not telling you this -- a person who is not capable of forgiveness wouldn't ask the question!)

Blessings
