Both of then are trump cards for a captain.

Yuvtaj is a solid batsman and a useful bowler.
Irfan is a good opening pace bowler but not a dependable batsman.
So, the natural choice between them is YUVRAJ.

Yuvraj's Style

Yuvraj made his one-day international debut against Kenya at Nairobi, at the ICC Knock-Out Trophy, and Test debut against New Zealand at Mohali. He showed his potential in his second ODI which was against the Australians where he scored a quickfire 84 off 82 balls against a quality pace attack consisting of bowlers like Glenn McGrath, Brett Lee and Jason Gillespie

Yuvraj is primarily a left-handed batsman but can bowl part-time left-arm spin. He is one of the better fielders in the Indian team, fielding primarily at point .

Memorable innings

One of his most memorable innings was a partnership with Mohammad Kaif in the Natwest Series final against England which led India to victory. He scored his first century in his fourth season with the Indian team against Bangladesh. After that he also scored hundreds against Zimbabwe and Australia. In the Indian Oil Cup 2005, he made 110 (of 114 balls) (his third century) and an important partnership worth 165 runs with Mohammad Kaif, to become the man of the match against West Indies in the last match of the round robin league.

The Best Player in Cricket is that player who is consistent in his performance, say someone like Ricky Ponting. Unfortunately in Indian cricket other than Rahul Dravid no one is consistent.

Umm...............Good question.
Both r grt players(Allrounders).
Assets for their team.
Both r out of form.
Pathan is good for bowling the initial overs while Yuvi in the middle.
Pathan is forced to open but he could do better down the order.
Yuvi is the best man for no.4 or 5

Both are good players n both of them are inconsistent. We will have to wait for sometime to decide who is better as Pathan is just 21and Yuvi has started performing well after Chappel came on.

ifran is a good bowler , yuvaraj is a good batsman. pathan bats partime and yuvaraj bowls part time. Decide how to comapre the two. Each is a kind of their own. Cannot comapre them.

NONE OF THEM.
Why give us Indian Options when your question says "in Cricket" not "indian Cricket". This SICKENS ME. You should bear in mind that this is not an Indian site.
