Among the hundreds of different species of Ladybugs, one does bite! Asian lady beetles are more
aggressive in habit. I found out that this sometimes means that you may feel a slight nip when the Asian lady beetle lands on your skin. Yup, they bite. But, don't worry because they cannot harm you, draw blood, or poison you.
Just gently scoot them away so they can do their environmental work. The multicolored Asian lady beetle is 1/3 inch in length; dome-shaped; yellowish-orange to red with variable black spots on the back. Deep orange is the most common color. The 19 black spots may be faint or missing. There is a black “W” shaped mark on the thorax.

These insects are only dangerous to aphids which are the major part of the diet for them. If they bite you might feel it but I've bred them and mantis's for bug control in the garden (you can actually buy them at garden stores for this) and never felt a thing. Of course that might be because they liked me...

Not ladybugs, but Asian Lady Beetles do. These are the ones that infest our homes in the fall. They look slightly different than the Ladybugs we played with as kids, which is becoming increasingly rare in my neighborhood.

You should check out the links below, very informative, with photos too!
