I heard this around a campfire, its a send up of all country and western songs, about a guy driving in the rain to pick his Mom up from Jail? does anyone know what it is called, artist etc or where I can find a copy of it? The wrangler that sang it has left the ranch, so I can't track it down, hope someone out there has heard it too!

David Allen Coe sings the song you are talking about. He used to have some very vulgar language in some of his other songs.

Yeah, gimmie a minute and I'll think of it. I work at a redneck/biker bar and I hear it all the time.

Looks like they beat me to it but they are right. As far as other people putting their favs I guess they don't take the time to fully read the question before answering.

It's "You Never Even Called Me By My Name". It was written by the late great Steve Goodman, and performed by David Allen Coe.
