My husband who works overseas is coming home on leave. He only has a week. unfortunately, his schedule falls around the time i am to have my period. i (more or less) have a normal cycle (unless i am all stressed so it gets delayed) but is there any way that i can delay my period or stop it from coming the month my husband arrives? otherwise, so much for coming home when he can't touch me at all ( my cycle is usually 4-5 days long). arrrrghhhhhh! help.

Are you on birth control? If you're on the pill, you can just skip the sugar pills and start a new pack early which should skip your period, or if you're not, you can just get over it and have sex anyways. A little blood never hurt anybody and it will make you feel great and even help with cramps. A little extra laundry is nothing compared with reuniting with your husband. Ok, there's the other option of all the nonpenetration sexual possibilities. It's not like your only choices are sex or knitting together.

He's your husband so there should not be anything you two can not do. I agree with the other answer put a towel down or get busy in the shower. Old school remedy douche with ice cold water 15 minutes before and he will start it again but keep another cold one on hand once the first session is done. Remember put a towel down. Start taking the pill to control your period is the only other answer I can give you. Have fun

If you're husband is coming home on leave, odds are he won't care whether or not you're having your period! But if it does bother you, you can use Today Sponges which will hold back the flow while you have sex. Just don't leave the sponge in for too long afterwards. This works like a charm!! ((and the sponge is officially back on the market!!))

Been there and done this for a vacation with a long distance relationship. Go to the doctor...tell him your problem and ask him to prescribe birth control pills now that will insure that you're protected and mathmatically calculate a schedule and insure the dosage so your cycle will not effect your happy reunion. It may mean that you are on taking the pill during his visit. Good luck!

when mine came home on r & r I was on the patch....probably not a good thing to do, but I used an extra patch while he was home. It would have fallen on the week without it. So if you're on the pill...keep up the active ones for a week. If not, don't worry about it. he's not gonna care. Just keep a towel nearby and take a nice shower together afterwards!

Try to get the period started and finished before he comes... I know that you can eat some fruit like Papaya (in large quantities) which helps to get the period started.

There is no way to delay your period. You can try to stress out to delay it, but I don't think he will mind whether you are on or not!
