I got this used laptop with 2 partitions; one of them 1.99 gigs, one of them 35 gigs. XP is installed on the smaller partition leaving almost NO space. I installed a bunch of updates which basically screwed me because they took up the remaining space on the partition. I do not have the XP CD anymore, sad, i know! I don't know what else to do!!!

For the time being you can move the swap file from the C: drive to the other partition, delete all files in the temp folder, empty the recycle bin, and delete any system restore points. While you are at it, uninstall any programs that you can reinstall later. This should free up enough space to install the partition manager of your choice. It would be very helpful to check the drive for errors. Then defrag the hard drive first before resizing.

Partition What! No way in hell do you need to waste time with that one because you have XP go to disc management and click on the larger partition and delete it after u do that then make new extended partition on the unallocated partition. So when it comes up to the part where it will give you a selection on the radio buttons (simple) (Raid) or (SPAN) do a span and that will increase the since of the c: drive to the fullest. take it easy ..

You need to download the program called Partition Magic. It will allow you to configure the sizes of the partition and combine 2 into 1. It used to be on download.com . Try this URL.
