Ok The job ill soon be working for is going to start my pay at 9.68 an hour and give me full time so thats about 40 hours a week. So my first pay would be 9.68 times 40 = 387.2 and i figure for taxes they would take 30$ out of it? so it would be 357.2 bucks a week and in a month thats x4 =1428.8 a mont so MY question is can i start out and take care of myself with that much money or do i need allot more to be independent and the company has a program to help me save for collage but i just dont know if i can make it on my own with that income becuase i have never been independent?

You can if you get an affordable place to live and BUDGET BUDGET BUDGET!! You need to know exactly how much you will need each month for each bill you will pay and plan for food and transportation costs as well. I was raising two teenagers and buying a house on just about that amount. It just takes very careful planning on how you spend.

The cost of living is so high that you almost need to live with either a girlfriend or a roomate. First of all the taxes will be more than 30 bucks my friend, and second if you look at the cost of being on your own are huge. First is rent that is between 500-1200 dollars depending on how nice of a place you want, then food will cost about 75-80 a week then you have phone and cable bill and the insurance for your car. The electric bill and gas money and your car payment, that adds up quick. Just to be comfortable you would need 20 bucks an hour to start. But living with a roommate can help a lot, i know in my younger days i had many roommates.

I would still look for a better paying job. they will probably take more then 30$ for taxes. and you also need to figure in healthcare cost. you might be able to get by if you have a roommate helping with expences. you should try a job that will pay at least 2000$ a month to start.

Fisrt, I want your job if they're only going to take 30$ out for taxes. Sorry to burst your bubble, but they'll be taking out a lot more than that. My boyfriend makes $10.00 an hour, 40 hrs a week and they take about $100.00 from him each week.
Anyways, with him bringing in a little over 300 a week in we can afford an apartment that's 490.00 a month, food, beer, pop, fast food, and 3 dogs.
It's a little rough but we make it!

All depends on what the cost of living is where you are living. For example, especially in city areas basics like food, transportation, and rent can cost you more. You need to figure how much money a month you will spend on these expenses.

You have to estimate what your monthly expenses would be, such as rent, operating a vehicle or paying for public transportation, food, utilities, etc. I would work at the job for a while to make sure you will want to stay at it, and while doing that, put as much money aside as you can. Be reasonable about those monthly expenses, too. They can really mount up. Good luck.
