It may due to improper installation of Audio Driver. Right click in My Computer and click manage, then select device manager and scan for new hardware or see is theare any ? mark with yellow collor, if you found any one of this update the correct audio driver or re-install the correct audio driver which is comes along with mother board when u purchase. and restart the system. Now you may hear the sound.

wish u all the best.

first thing u chk is the icon of volume located from ur taskbar, click this n see if "mute" is check under volume control, if it is uncheck then this is not the reason. then check ur control panel go to device manager then check if there's yellow exlamation mark under the sound device, meaning ur sound driver is not properly installed if yellow mark. u have to install the correct driver for ur sound card. u can download the driver from driverguide. com. if this is not the reason then maybe ur sound card is built-in with your motherboard, so check ur cd of ur mother board, driver of ur sound card usually comes with it.

try this CONTROL PANEL, SOUNDS AND AUDIO DEVICES and make sure the box marked mute is UNchecked. also go into windows media player and check if mute might be on there.
