I`m mixed.. and I don`t say the "N" word. Because I know what my father went through growing up being degrated, and I chose not to carry on the word.

No, I don't say it. I was born and raised in Alabama, the home of the civil rights movement. I will cuss like a sailor, but one of the few words that will never utter out of my mouth is the n word. Down here, it still lingers as a sign of the past and the racial injustice that was fought for. It reminds people that there was once white, and then there were coloreds, jungle bunnies, i.e. anything people could come up with to make black people sound inferior. I usually say something to someone who uses that word or any other racial slur. It is the fact that slurs are still used today that people are victims of hate crimes. People don't understand that a slur will piss someone off and then the sayer will get angry, so forth and so on.

Why do rappers use it in thier songs then?? I am just wondering, because I thought it had been kinda changed in meaning, I mean you hear people on tv and movies say it all of the time as a way of saying Hi dude sorta thing, I have never said it except to my white friends as a way of saying hi or hey buddy, we basically never heard it used in a derogatory manner it is only in rap songs or movies like 10 mile, movies about rappers lives. I think that it only becomes a derogatory term when used as such and I think people have done a good job by turning the meaning around into something used in music and whatever...I mean I hear more afican americans using the term than white people and the white people who say it do so because they listen to rap.
However racism was never very prevalent in Canada and I never hear people actually use the word ni**er only ni**a.

I'll admit I use it... I even call white people "****@" sometimes when I'm not really thinkin cuz I do use it to mean friends. I know it's a bad word, but the scipt has been flipped on it. I told my white best friends when we were cracking jokes we've heard that it's ok cuz it was part of the joke and you gotta tell it right...or when we had discussions about it...it didn't bother me so much then because I knew they didn't mean it to hurt anybody... but after Katrina when one of my white best friends went and said that "my home has been burned by n!ggers!" (which wasn't true, she did it for attention), I knew EXACTLY what she meant, and she did too...that they were low-down dogs, not people...she meant it to hurt blacks and degrade them...so she's no longer my friend and I've asked my other white friends to watch it around me nowadays...and it's taken a bit to get back to being ok with the jokes. But it's part of my life that will take a while to go away so for right now, all I can do is accept it.

The "n" word as you would like to say, meant "black" in either hispanic or latin (any of the European languages, I cannot be so sure). So, it's like saying "white" or "black" and it is one of the fallacy of "generalisation".
Anyway, what's skin color? Mine is brown and we "brown" people believe we're not half-baked nor overcooked.
But I do not always put that in my head. It's just that nobody's on top of anybody, if that's what you'd want to hear.
It's just that the "white" race is currently "getting old" and that other races may soon dominate the world, and it's a good news, ain't it?
But then, who wants world domination except the "w"s? ;D

I'm not black, but I think it's a word that shouldn't be used. Blacks worked too hard during the civil rights movement to gain equality and respect, and using that word just sets us back 50 years, regardless of the race of the person saying it.
And for all the rappers who use it every 3rd word: Go and call your grandmother a ***** and see what she thinks of it (since it's supposed to be an 'endearing' term). She'll probably slap you.

Only use the N word when you are prepared to back it up. It is supposed to mean lazy and I have wanted to tag that on some blonde white boy so bad before but its tough to get it to stick and make him really feel the meaning of the word. n***a should just never be used because it wholely embodies the racist use of the word. Basically the whole use of the word n****r is messed up because it seems that the people using the word to describe another person is usually rather lazy theirself.

omg i'm guilty of saying ****a like 1000 xs a day.
My favorite quote is "ni*ga please"
I'm sorry but i'm obessed with ghetto slang ,
There word ni**er was actually envented by the spanish .
***** means black in spanish and the spanish would refer to them as negero meaning black nothing negative , then as time marches on the white slave drivers picked up on it and droped the o and just started a new hate era ni**er..again as time marched on the africans started calling each other ****a as a term of endearment for friend or pal , as the english call it mate or as the spanish call it amigo..It just means friend nothing more nothing less ..The word ni**er is a very hatred slur but i love the word ****a and it isnt a slur it's a slang term for friend ..My advice is stop being so senesative and catch Carlos Mencia on Comedy Cenrtal and he will help you learn that each race has there own trash and it's funny to joke about it and stop be so sensitive

Call a black man a ni**er and feel the wrath of the Lord, the NAACP and the 40 Acres and a Mule Organization. Call a large man or woman fat and no one gives a rats a$$.
I never use it and never have but I'm really sick of hearing about "victims'.

to me the "N" word is how someone is not what color the skin is, it's
the way they act or treat someone, I know a lot of black people I would never call that word, but then the others deserve to be called the "N" word, because that's how they act, And you all know what I mean. I call white, brown, yellow, black, etc. that word if that's how their acting. Just look at Africa and see how the blacks over there treat each other, they steal, kill, starve,in slave, etc, etc, etc each other over there, so it's not just the whites treating blacks bad it's also blacks doing blacks bad.
