Is it better to just go and buy a new ink cartrage for about $30 or is it better to go out and buy the ink kits that "re-fill", i guess, the ink cartrage that I already have for half the price?
Which way is better?

If your printer is new and still on warranty period, then if you buy and used refill, it will void the warranty.

Refill, nowadays are getting better for half the price of the original. If you are printing for example, photos, then it's really good to buy new and original. If you use for printing texts and your printer already out of warranty, then you can go for refill...

There is a procedure for refilling the cartrage if are sure of it you can try refilling bcoz if anything goes wrong the cartrage has to be just disposed as it cannot be reused.
And the refilling would work good only for the Black ink not for color.

There are many good answers above and personally I refill mine and those of my friends with no problem. It is a bit of a hassle, but well worth the savings. (My fingers always seem to have ink on them for a day or 2 after re-filling. lol)

If you want to avoid the hassle but still reap some of the savings look for a local ink refill shop.
You take in an empty Cartridge and they re-fill it while you wait. They are starting to pop up everywhere.

Lol....I just finished telling another dude that here a sec ago. But by all means use ink cartridge refills!! You will save a truck load of $$$$. I'm sure you seen the prices of cartridges; cost as much as the printer. I use them all the time and they work Anyway, I give 2 thumbs up on those refill kits....

I don't recommend using "refill kits" for 2 reasons: 1. If you have a warranty using them will void it and 2. They WILL make a mess of your printer; leaking ink all over the inside.

It depends on the cartridge, on my hp printer I was able to refill both cartridges 7 times each for 9.95. New ones would have been 24.95 each times 14 ( black and color). I saved about 340 bucks. On my hp printer, it didn't work so well, so I ended up being out the cost of a roll of paper towels to wipe up the mess. (I was able to use the ink on the other printer.)

i use the refills . i have an hp3620 no problems yet . but i only refill about 5 times on 1 set. that way i don't get leakage and the jets don't get clogged. i get the refills on line. made for hp. printers. i have used refill kits for5 years now.

If you think about it you can get at least ten refills with a good inkjet refill kit. I used to go to Walmart to get them refilled for me but by the second or third refill they were garbage. I started ordering the kit online and its not hard to do and definitely worth it.

I use Epson, so I go by this place
