You have faulty information. There are plenty off Americans who like soccer. We just happen to have many pro-sports teams in addition to soccer. Now do you understand?

Because Of The Ignorance.
Americans Hate It When Other Nations Play a sport better than them.
Am I not Right. For Example Other than Soccer, USA hate most skillful sport: Cricket, Beacause They Cant Play It. So U can see that Americans are tilted to the sports which they can play and which dont appeal that much to other nations, Eg, Base Ball, American Football, etc

We don't like soccer because it is deadly dull. Any sport which can have a game end in a tie is worthless.

I actually tried to sit and watch some of the World Cup competitions, but I quickly found myself becoming more fascinated with the fuzzy lint I found in my belly button. At least the lint didn't kick a ball in its own goal.

Oh yeah,if some idiot shouts, "goooooooooooooooooooooal!" one more time, I'm gonna friggin' bust a nut.

Here are some suggestions to improve the game:

1. make the field much smaller.
2. eliminate goalkeepers.
3. make people in the stands stop chanting.
4. continue play until a team wins.
5. don't ever put it on t.v.

ignorance and stupidity???

haha...

or maybe cause the united states is obsessed with being number 1 always on top, the best of the best...and they know that in soccer, that is impossible for them. so they would rather focus on sports where their only competition is themselves (american football, baseball, etc)....that way they will always be the winners (and the loser at the same time). in soccer, they have TONS of competition so they just play with mediocrity....cause why bother trying when you know youre gonna lose each and every time???

people like tahunajcw (commented above) make me sick. frankly, id rather have them watch american football and stop insulting soccer or try to change the game to fit them. idiot!

I'm American and I love it. It just isn't as popular here because everyone is obsessed with American football. In the last few years there has actually been a great rise in the number of people who watch it.

There is certainly Americans who like soccer.

Probably it's some impression that some of you have. I think when you think about team sports that the American are good at, the first few that come to your mind is basketball, baseball and american football.

because they think they are the coolest, and soccer is for the lower classes. That is why no one plays american football, baseball or other stupid games in Europe

We have football, that's why. Football is a more compelling sport to watch, and basketball is too. I like playing soccer, but watching it is, quite honestly, boring.

its DULL

and as far as all you idiots insaulting america because "we cant win at it" no thats not the reason we dont like it, we have sports that are fun to play AND watch, how does not liking a game make us stupid/ignorent, if any of us are stupid/ignorent its the person saying that...and whoever said our games dont take skills, try memorizing american football plays and carrying them out, try being up on the line and holding your ground...
