I just moved and I really hate my current sink. I used to have a stainless steel sink undermounted in granite. I currently have a cheap nasty plastic drop in sink in a laminate counter. I like the counter but the sink sucks. I can't get it clean no matter what I clean it with and I can't use something like steel wool because it will scratch it. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah, you would think going to Home Depot and explaining this problem would have worked but I asked there first.

I kind of figured that I couldn't do it, but I was hoping that some new technology happened recently that would make it work, oh well.

You don't ever want to undermount with laminate counters. The underlaying plywood would warp, pucker, swell...and get really nasty!!!
Just get a drop-in Stainless steal sink installed.

Undermount Sinks For Laminate Countertops

My undermount sink was close to 800 dollars so take that into consideration too. I know no way to finish a laminate countertop to a undermount sink. I guess it is possible, but unlikely to seal enough not to blow up your subtop.

No No No.
There are some good looking stailess sinks that could fit your need. Go to the 'Banco' web sight for an example or just type in "stianless steel sinks' and you'll see all the choices. The costs vary.

NO, the laminate will get wet and swell up horribly. get a nice drop in sink that you like better, many nice ceramic ones easy to install.

Why don't you call or go by Home Depot and explain your problem. They have very helpful people there in each department that are more than happy to help.
