It is hard to tell, as babies respond to their mothers' voices early on. I have had four kids, and I would say that they specifically responded to their own name as early as 6months and as late as one year. It would depend on how much you interact with your child, whether you call him/her by a pet name too, and how often the child hears his/her name.

My sisters baby started answering to his name after a couple months of speaking.

my boy's started answering by thier name at 6 months and 6 month old daughter answers by her name now, but all babies are differant. good luck.

They only turn to your voice, they don't really respond to their name ( when they are babies) My daughter is 2 and she sill doesn't answer to her name, she comes running when I call the dog, the cat, the phone rings, but when I call her name, she hides!!

I recommend if someone made up their options of calling their toddler a particular call, then why might want to you ask others human beings's opinion on it. Thats it, your options has been set up. once you ask for someones opinion, we are time-honored human beings right here, we can inform you precisely what you want or do not favor to hearken to, we are no longer psychologists or acquaintances, we are only "information superhighway shoppers". perchance if human beings had eye contact even as approached with a similar question, their reaction might want to were way more effective polite than on the information superhighway.

Most know their name by 3 months if you say it to them alot

About 6 months give or take. (when they start moving around, and getting into stuff, and you say their name alot at them)

2 months old for most of my families kids and talking at about 6 months.

mine is around 3 months. when we call her name, she'll respond by looking at us.
if you want her to know how respond sooner, you gotta call her name many times a day while pointing at her. 'this is megan!". or looking at the mirror and points at her and say "that is megan", "this is mommy". something like that...
