Not technically.Lyrically in later solo recordings particularly,he spoke from experience and was very good at putting words together,But as a representative of a new,young generation of people and what he believed he arose to become larger than life.Still one of my all time favorites and the reason I got into music in the first place like so many others.

the beatles was paul's band.
the silver beatles was about equally balanced: john and his friend stuart sutcliffe, paul and his friend george harrison, and pete best whom nobody really liked but was the best drummer they could find.
when stuart sutcliffe left and pete best was sacked the beatles became paul and his friend george harrison, john lennon, ringo starr.

No, it is very overrated specially for the tragic circumstances of his death. The Beatles were special for the 4 talented songwriters together.
Paul has made a lot of good songs after the Beatles. Imagine is known not for its musical quality but for using it for any rally or demostration.

paul is the best. i agree john was good though but not as good. then again you cant and shouldnt compare them bc they had different styles. **** it they were both great...
