All of you eggheads don't know what you're missing. Being a little stupid rocks! My IQ is below 80, and there is so much stuff that I can't comprend... but luckly the rest of the world picks up the slack and I can just take a nap! I really love napping. When I wake up I order some take out and call it a day.

President Clinton is reported to have an IQ of at least 160. He has an exceptional memory. However, being intelligent does not mean that people have common sense--mostly defined as morality. If you examine what people refer to as common sense, they are usually referring to the fact that the person in question has chosen to do the correct moral thing. I noticed that people with high IQs tend to see several aspects of a situation; this can make their decisions more difficult to come by because there are always many solutions to each problem/circumstance.

Average IQs are 90-105. 105-120 is above average. 140-160 is gifted. Above 160 genius level. (75-90 are below average. 60-75 are retarded, etc.) Some dogs' non-verbal intelligence have been measured at 60 (German Sheppards used in police/military service).

The Japanese use an intelligence test that measures artistic and moral intelligence, along with the standard spatial, reasoning, verbal, etc. I suspect that if the Western world used such a test, that IQ scores would be somewhat lowered for some people and somewhat increased for others. I would therefore not rely on just the IQ tests given in schools to judge one's intelligence.

I am not certain you are asking the question you are after but I will give this a go.

Intelligence tests are there to guage you learning capabilities on a given day. I find it odd given it is a test of historical data which you may have not been exposed to. I have been lucky enough to have been exposed to quite a bit of information in my life so far. I have a pretty high IQ as does everyone in my family. So what?

I think you point is that you have a great deal of practical knowledge that doesn't show up on tests. Maybe you do. Maybe your strengths are not in black and white but shades of grey. If they are then so be it. Be happy with who you are, and oh yea, lay off the ambien, it can make you halucinate and even sleep walk. Common sense.

And if your family is that hung up on IQ then go back to school and give them something tangible to talk about.

160 isn't better than 140 for more than a few things- like advanced mathematics or advanced physics. 115 is high enough for being a doctor or a lawyer, or almost anything else a college degree prepares you for. Yes, you need common sense, getting along with others, perseverance, sitzflesch, and the like for succeeding in most things. Incidentally. at 140, you're a genius too, for whatever that's worth.

I have had three close friends kill themselves - - they all had very high IQ's - who is it that ever told you a high IQ is beneficial? I would challenge that as the smartest people I have known have often been the least able to function and the least happy.. Probably about 125 would be ideal.. and you will find that people will test differently at different times - - some smart people do not test well - - too many variables to take it seriously..

With your 140 IQ, you prepared an almost unintelligible sentence, and what a wonderful run-on sentence it is...

No, you're not an idiot, but you've prepared a stellar campaign speech. We may be voting soon, though not on the matter of your candidacy. Good luck.

O - and "poof" back on you.

Hey you are still in that old concept of IQ. Now, people talk about EQ, SQ, etc. Check out that also and then take a geometric mean then compare youself with your father and rest of the world. Eventhough it is a useless affair...time pass is assured.

I have an IQ 190+, but my common sense came from experiences, i.e. mistakes and fixing those mistakes. Failure is the best tool for learning, especially common sense.

relative to the way you write your IQ is 140 only if you are about 10 years old... Next time ask a question, rather than spewing unverifiable ego boosting proclamations.
