Not that most of us know of. He still very much a Real Madrid player.
He only announced that he is stepping down as the England captain after the 2006 World Cup.

dun think real madrid will kick him out. no matter how bad he's playing, all the money (selling of jersey, endorsement, etc) that's coming in because of him will make them reconsider

i didnt hear anything about that...i hope he retires soon though. did anyone notice that he touched the ball maybe twice during the entire world cup!? what a waste of a captain's arm band.
