screen lock locks everything; if you accidentally lock yourself out, however, you can just synch your pod with your computer (as in "update") and everything is fine again.

Screen Lock, just locks the screen so nobody can use the iPod until a special code is entered, which will unlock the device.

screen lock just means it is locking everything on your pod you will not be able to do anything on your ipod because it would all be locked

Yip, sorry to disappoint but thats all it does, lock the screen. Nothing fancy. I suppose it stops strangers using your iPod coz they would need the code to unlock it.
