if yer savvy enough (level 3 on hardness scale of 1 to 10), this bad little util will kill ANYTHING, no matter how persistent. it is used from the command line, and get your PID from task manager. this util has never failed to kill a process for me! even if it doing some crazy debugging mode that lasts forever!

cmd.exe is the command line interpreter for XP. It means that you have a DOS box running. Just close it. If you don't have a DOS box running, it's likely that some process is running using a hidden DOS box. Most likely culprit would be spyware or a virus. Sort that out first.

Press ALT, CTRL, and DELETE all at the same time and then a window should pop up telling you what programs you are running and from there click the one you want to close out, and press "end task."

Use your Task Manager. Right-click on your bottom toolbar then select "Task Manager". When it comes up, highlight the program you want to stop running, then click on "end task".
