Yes, it is possible. But there are a few things this "ex drug addict" must remember.
1) He/she is never an "ex" addict. He or she should never have that mentallity that they have it beat. That leads to "oh, one little hit won't hurt" type of thinking.
2) That relapse is a part of recovery. So it's not the end of the world if there's a relapse. You just gotta hope that he/she recognizes the relapse and can stop before it's too late.
The best way to think of addiction is litterally the old cliche of a 500-pound monkey on that person's back. It's always going to be there. But with each passing day that monkey starts to get smaller from starvation. The monkey might feel lighter and you might think it's gone...but it's not.
Rome wasn't built in a day and addictions are not that easy to make a complete 180 degree turn around. But, it can be done and it is done.

Yes, definitely. However, don't expect results immediately. It takes time, will, and devotion. With the help of a good rehab center, close friends and family, drug addicts can turn their lives a complete 360 degrees.

Yes its very hard but possible. Even though the person may have recovered they will always have to consider themself an addict and work on staying clean for years. You cant say well Im cured I dont have to worry about it any more.

Yes but it will be very hard. It will depend on how long they took drugs, and how willing they are to change.
I had a friend who was one. She has now been been drug free for about a yr. I can not say she is the person she was before drugs, but she now has a life.
Good luck.

There is no such thing as an "ex" drug addict, they are always "recovering" addicts because one false move and they are back doing drugs/alcohol again. So not really, there is always a chance they will never change.

Possible but not likely. The person has to be really committed to a clean and sober existence.

Pray to God for the power to stay on the good road and find a great spirit filled church and some loving people to be accountable too so that you will stay strong. Dump all the bad friends and old hang-outs that would pull you back in, and keep your eyes on JESUS God Bless
