A friend of mine passed away this past Wednesday. His wife found out on Friday that she is pregnant; my friend never knew. What is worse? Knowing or not knowing?

maybe there is no better or worse.... maybe he DOES know because he is a spirit in heaven now? or maybe it means that altho your friend had passed, his wife was given a gift of having something that will carry on his name... they say do not dwell on the dead but the living... and i believe it is becase we have work to do here on earth before we die. after death is something we cannot understand or comprehend, and so we should focus on what we can do that is good and positive in the here and now. be good to ur friend's wife, and help her keep the memory of him alive and well w/ his new baby.

Multiple answers for this question.

For your deceased friend, if he knew he was going to be a father it may have made him happier when he died or not. That depends on your deceased friend.

For his pregnant wife, she didn't know in time to tell him so she may wish she had been able to tell him, but; I am guessing she is more concerned with the fact she is pregnant and alone and this child may be her strongest connection to the man she loves. I think she would have liked him to know but what difference would it have made.

As for the baby, it would be nice to think your father knew you were coming and loved you for it. Perhaps that is an assumption the child will make in time.

And as for you, you obviously know and perhaps you wish you didn't know. Unfortunately, you don't have that option anymore. Or maybe you do. Lie and it all becomes a great unknown to everyone but you.

Certainty is a matter of opinion. You can always be wrong about yours.

Humans always pride themselves to be a higher species because of their ability to think and make decisions. In my opinion, the ability to think is starting to get in the way of our lives. Because people think, and everyone think differently, quarrels and fights are started. Because people think, their school essays get discredited; students are not supposed to think, they are supposed to 'think' like people of the past who had written some books or some form of evidence and include those in the essays. Because people think, those who don't think have to conform to the ideas of the former. Because people think, they cannot come to a decision about some things and it will always be there, never-ending, never gonna be solved. Because people think. Too much in fact. Wouldn't it be good if everyone just do things without thinking too much? Go for it. On impulse. On instinct. Would that make things better? Look what has all the thinking done to us. Yes, we have the technology, the entertainment and everything else which people of the past did not have but we no longer have the simplicity in people. I'm not saying that people in the past did not think but they were smarter. They don't think so much. What's the point of thinking so much and still no conclusion and decision could be made? Doesn't that make you feel worse?

Bottomline: we think too much. Don't k. To whoever this is applicable to.

in this case at the moment of death, its better your friend did not know that his wife was pregnant. Otherwise he would have to endure a lot of pain worrying about his childs future.

On the other hand, if he had known, may be the events would have taken a different turn and he wouldn't have died.

playing the "what if" game can be very tracherous.
That's why sometimes we need to accept our fate and carry on.

May peace be with you and your friend's family.

Depends on how the friend viewed about pregnancy ! If he had a desire to see the child, then may be it is worse to know. Instead, if it comforts him to know that he has left a part of himself to be better remembered by for his wife, it is better to know. And thus , each aspect has to be looked at to know the better option or to know "which would have been better" !

Depends on the perspective you are looking it at. To me not knowing is the worse (as the wife), coz knowing means that I have a blessing to come.

First let me say how sorry I am for all involved. Second I will keep you all in my prayers. As for your question, there is no easy answer. Although I believe with all my heart that he knows now anyway, and will continue to watch over the now unborn child and will continue to do so forever until they meet in eternity. God Bless and Good Luck

i think of that is worst no longer understanding, greater often than not if that is a few thing touching directly to your self. in case you be conscious of there are only maximum of much less variables. i'm specific thoughts could get interior the way, yet whilst it replaced into some thing considerable, could you rather extremely no longer have prevalent? as properly thoughts could get interior the way no longer understanding too.

Goodness. That is immensely sad.

To answer your question: He knows. Whether she told him before or not. He is watching over her and knows it now. He will be there with her throughout the rest of her life. I know this in my heart.

That child is a blessing.
God has his plan for her and her child.

Give her huge hug for me.
