Sometimes the direct approach is best, just ask. But if that seems too bold for your liking, look for the following signs. Pay attention to your conversations with the person in question.
1) Does this person show a special interest in having a conversation with you and, once started, make an effort to keep that conversation going?
2) Has this person taken a sudden interest in your life and hobbies? This is a sure sign that he or she is interested in something.
3) Other elements of body language include frequent eye contact, holding your gaze and looking down before looking away.
4) Does the person you're wondering about just plain smile at you a lot?
Just remember, take each moment like it will be the last. This I feel will be a good start for you in knowing. Good Luck!!!!!!!

"Other girl?"
Interesting.
Look for an opportunity to compliment the person in question.
Ask her out.
If she goes out with you, tell her you like her.
If she says she likes you too then you have your answer.
And next time you ask this question be more gender specific. This reads like you are either a lesbian, in which case my advise is the same, or a two timing guy trying to hit on one girl while you have another on the side, in which case my advise is the same but don't be surprised if the girl you are after talks to the girl you are with and every other girl in your school as well.

Well . I'm not sure if i understand the whole question.
Anyway - i assume that u are a Boy 15 years old, and you like a 17 years old Girl.
It woud be not hard at all to tell her that U like Her ...
but i think it woud be hard to her to respond to your feeling becouse alot of Teens in this age "need" to be with a Big Bad Boy .
Well keep in mind a possiblility of rejecting you becouse they are stuped enought .
Anyway girls in this ages also hard think about truly love ... maybe more about frendship ...
Well - sorry if my answer do not fit you , but this is my opinion.

umm...are you a dude or a dudette?
Instead of saying, "I'm 15 and this girl is 17" you said, "I'm 15 and this other girl is 17"
as if to imply that you also are a girl.
