Check out the shopping channel QVC website and put in jewellery cleaner, have some very good products at reasonable prices. Be careful, some stones, such as emeralds, opals and pearls react badly to cleaners.

They also sell prezerve jewellery boxes to prevent tarnishing once you have cleaned you jewellery

Put loads of fairy liquid in a cup with some water and put the jewellery in and leave for about 7-8 hours. It's cheap and the best way I've ever cleaned jewellery. Sparkling

For Gold - warm soapy water and perhaps a little methylated spirits mixed in to loosen the grunge.
For silver it depends how dirty but same as above for a light clean but if really bad then a proper jewelery dip or a dunk in and out in silver dip and wash straight away.

I usually use washing up liquid and boiling water for Gold after a minute or two of soaking wipe clean with a clean cloth

Put your jewellery in a bowl and piur coke on them. The acid in the coke cleans your jewellery so well. i do mine once every two months.

By using a jewellery cleaning cloth (Jewelmer). The kind with two colors: white & grey. The white part is used for polishing & cleaning, the grey is used for buffing. :)

Try and order some jewellery cleaner from Avon and soak your jewellery in the cleaner.

Put the gold into a cup of Gin as it makes it sparkle..
Not sure if it works on Silver though..

I use to have gold cleaned at the jewelery store, but I use toothpaste on silver and it really works...
