I want to visit my bf who is in another country.What excuse shall I make up in order to let my boss give me a week off? Thank you for your ideas!!

Get to large newsopaper dealer that carries international newspapers. Buy the main one in your boyfriend's country check the obituary section and "adopt 'one of the recently dearly departed. She 'becomes' your beloved aunt. Approach your boss with a sad countenance, (you may need sliced onions, for this delicate task. (do it in a stall in the women's bathroom, unless your boss is cross-dresser). Tell your boss that her funeral and the wake ceremonies take about a week. (but not so long before the corpse starts to decompose).And your family will disown you if you do not show up at the funeral mass. If you put in a stellar "Sarah Bernhart" performance said boss may contribute to the plane fair. Berievement flights usually get a big discount look into that, fraud.
When you return home, make sure that you do NOT have a tan. (no problem you should be spending much of the holiday in the bedroom, & at cultural performances, & sleeping it off.) Get some mass cards from that funeral. No problem just show up toward the end of the funeral, there are always spare cards hanging about. (or see the undertaker if you sleep in and miss the performance) Also gift said boss with some local souvenir. Esp. if he financed the flight.

Ok this works for me every friggin time and I've done it several times with absolutely no problems what-so-ever! I've taken 3 week cruises in the Bahamas and 2 week vacations to South America on this one excuse, here it goes:

I always use the father is working in another country bit, it works. Let your employer know that your father is sick, very sick, death bed sick and that they have called for you to be at his bedside because it is unknown how long he has. 99% of most employers will give you the time off no problems, even if you do not have the time to take. Oh and no worries, they will never ask for a Death Cert for one it's not appropriate unless you've been caught lieing to get off before. Also, the reason you use "another country" is that in the U.S. they can look up death records and also view obituaries online and through the newspaper. Flawless trust me.

I once used the excusse that my family had planned a trip and they just let me know about it and that i needed the week off but that i would make up for it when i got back and work a few doubles or work a week straight! It might work but i dont really know your full circumstance! Hope it helped

If your worth what your getting paid, you should walk right up to your boss and tell him I need a week off to go get my brains ****** out. If your not worth a ****, you'll get fired
