I agree, but would add the 70's also. The parents of today are the children of that generation. Some don't know how to parent. In part, because their parents weren't around much.
My wife and I are perfect examples--she was brought up correctly and is strictly discipline and responsible. I on the other hand, want to overcompensate for my childhood and try to spoil my children. They get mixed messages, and play one against the other. Of course, my children like me better.

The fact that the 60s didn't fulfil their promise is the reason why we're still stuck at a crossroads. We just need to completely abandon the outmoded values of the 50s and progress into a less vacous and materialistic existence.

The 60's and 70's were a social experiment so to speak. As we know not all experiments are successful! There were mistakes made. Most notable the breakdown of the nuclear family. This has led to generations of lost children.

It was to happen one day or another - actually it has been happening from the time the human race started. it's just that now we talk about it since we have technology to do abortions. In the past they just had to have the baby or get killed or flee the country. Now we are trying to act according to social norms that we have enforced upon our selves - which I am not saying is bad.
People think more freely and the laws are made taking freedom of humanity in to consideration than it being religious or narrow minded laws.

Nah. I blame the individual. If you can't act responsibly in any circumstance, you will fail.
