I think you are asking if we think homosexuality is a pestilence.
I do not so think.
Homosexuality is a natural phenomena observed in nearly all animal species observed (see Dr. Bruce Bagemihl; Biological Exuberance; St. Martin's Press)
Furthermore there is evidence both scientific and anecdotal.
The fruit fly study is actually fairly conclusive. But the pheremonal and eye blink studies are also compelling. I've included links below for those that are interested. Beyond that, research increasingly suggests that at least for males, X28 is the crucial gene. I think that homosexuality serves an evolutionary purpose.
In addition to scientific evidence is the anecdotal evidence. I never in my life had any sexual feeling for a female -- nor any romantic feelings. I have had romantic feelings for other males since 8. I figured out it was sexual at 11 and came out at 14. I never felt anything for girls, neither do other gay males I know. Some boys manage to suppress it for a time, but when it comes out they admit to having always had the feelings. Likewise for bisexuals, although bisexuals always have feelings for both, and therefore are capable of choice -- for real. Gays are no more capable of choice than straights are.
As with any other natural state of man, homosexuality has a purpose, and can be used for good or for ill. Being homosexual is no more a pestilence than being German, or Indian or blonde or red-headed. It simply is.

Reynolds Jones

If you have to ask this question, you have something seriously wrong 'upstairs'.
If you think gay people are pestilent, then refrain, if you can, from being treated by gay doctors and nurses, don't bother going to work, you might catch something, how about you just lock yourself away in a tiny box and send yourself out to sea, maybe, if you're very lucky there'll be no gay people there and you can live your small life in an equally-sized environment.

Know...the pestilence are the crazy ideas that all these gay people who don't that they are gay come up with. Gosh...they need to read Kinsey's report and the research following it up. Like almost 70 percent of men are some type of bi. Give it up...we've won LOL.

A gay is against with God'will.God created man and woman in order to love each other and married in order to have kids to continue our lives in this world.A man who loves other man is a contrary and extra ordinanary relationship to our God's willingness..A gay who does often replace his partner will has a hiv aid disesase. He is a pestilence in a society.God hates gay,so in the holy qur'an all gays were killed by our God Almighty in Luth prophet era.

Homophobia, hatred and discrimination are much worse pestilences. I hope you don't call yourself a 'christian' if you practice any of these.
FYI gay is an adjective. You have gay people all around you, but they are not "the gays" normally, unless you are speaking pejoratively or are Kathy Griffin (she has an exemption). :o)

pestilence is usually equated with famine so I'd say straight people overpopulating the world is a form of pestilence.

The pestilence referred to the bubonic plague and it now refers to any epidemic disease that is highly contagious, infectious, virulent and devastating. However can anyone's sexuality be seen as that? You sound like a right drama queen to me. Hmmmm if you're so fond of stereotyping.........

being gay is not a disease, so it cannot be considered a "pestilence."
ignorance, hate, bigotry...those are the diseases!
so, if you think being gay is a "pestilence," then you must be diseased and you need to seek help!

No. But alot of people think so. I think it should be a person's choice on who they want to be with. There are to many people sticking their noses where it does not belong. But I guess that is a way of life. I think people should mind their own business because they all have things that are secrets.
