when an actor/actress on a soap opera dies...(like the guy who played Hal on As The World Turns) .....should the charcter they play be killed off or written off the show?? or should the part be re-casted?

Knowing soaps as well as I do, people have been killed off then came back later, miraculously, or they've just been recasted.

I hate it when they recast..very often they dont find someone who looks or sounds like the person. I have seen ones that ended up in a serious accident and had to have facial surgery when the bandages were unwrapped it showed the new actor..very slack. Kill em off-dont bring back dead characters
