Hello,
The Number 8 is all about fate and timing. I have included a brief description of this number to give you some idea of what I mean:
The Number 8
This is the eternal Hour Glass; its configuration even looks like one! Being continually tipped up-side-down in order to allow the sand to flow from full-to-empty and from empty-to-full. From Rich to Poor and Poor to Rich. The Number 8 is all powerful in its quest to balance the flow of sand; its energies and all that it accumulates along its journey. Its existence will always be of extremes between material success and that of material failure. Fate will always have its say. The two circles of the 8 just touching each other in the middle, represents the bottom being that of the Earth and the top being that of the Heaven. In order to find true happiness in life, it must therefore become the caretaker of humanity with spirituality, if it's allowed to prosper from the material wealth its in its best interest to accumulate. Sharing is the keyword for the Number 8 and the authorisation of whom with, rests within its own grasp and upon its own mercy. If this is not brought into the equation, it will forever go round and round in endless circles of nothingness for this is the number of infinity.

As a rule Cheiro declared that 4 & 8 were really bad numbers to be feared, but I totally disagree (along with Linda Goodman!). I think that whilst the Number 8 is here to conquer all things material it really needs to embrace the spiritual path in order to find that balance. So when times are good, its good for the 8 to share some of its wealth with others or do Charity Work on the side. When times are bad then the world and life will be there to support it.
My husband is a Life Path Number 8 and he has lost and regained financial wealth and position on more than one occasion. However, since he has developed a philosophical attitude to life he has noticed much assistance from unexpected sources. The rewards are outstanding and it doesn't always have to be about money and power but insight and purpose. He is currently on his Power Number 8 Pinnacle and the opportunities are throwing themselves at him! He joined the police 3 years ago and is now a sergeant whilst aiming for Inspector status. However, he experienced a broken childhood, wealthy parents divorced in a bitter feud that still carries on twenty years later, lived with his 75 year old gran on a council estate, and got sexually abused by a lodger - who happened to be a policeman! Got involved with a pregnant lady at 16 married her at 18 all while suffering years of abuse by her until he left and met me at the rip old age of 19. I changed his life. He deserved it. I am best friends with his ex because of their child who lives with us and because time is a great healer if you allow it to be.
We all sometimes make the best of a bad situation. If you have awareness to their purpose you really never need question anything, but accept its lesson as a way of evolving further because of them.

No I am not being sarcastic but...Why do you ask about suffering? The point system in numerology would only consider something going a muck, if it did/ or did not correlate with another specific date & or time in sequence with what ever occasion you are looking for answers.
