Because you aren't able to look at and listen to yourself as well and as much as the others around you. This is fortunate for me because I am really ugly and I only have to look at myself when I shave.

Because others only see you for part of the time. They dont know your motives or beliefs, and they form a perception of you based on their own experiences and beliefs. What some people see as good, you may see as bad. And they might see you do something and think you are bad, but they might not understand your reason for doing it. This is why life is based on perception, not truth.

For the reason that we (as in I & others ) are different individuals having different thought process and different experiences so the viewpoint differs . "I" will alsways see himself as a survivour/winner/victim and so will react in the same way proud/simpathetic whereas "The others" will see his situation as an opportunity in which they would have acted in a different and mostly in a better way .
One sees the sky above , other sees the earth below. Perceptions. Nobody is wrong nor are they perfect . Its all in the mind .

Because, when you get right down to it, you can't see yourself at all. You can look in a mirror, but all you're getting is a reflection. You can try to be objective, but subjectivity is inevitable when you ARE the subject. In some ways, you know yourself better than your friends can ever hope to. In other ways, they know you better than you can ever know yourself.
That's kind of the beauty of it, seems to me.

because i cannot fear myself as others do.
maybe because you spend more time 'being' yourself and less time 'seeing' yourself.
i find that people who spend their time 'being' and not 'seeing' themselves are more enjoyable to be around
