This is a question of relativity. Are you comparing yourself to the car? or are you comparing yourself to the ground (earth)? If you are comparing your motion to that of the car, then YES, you would go "up" or away from the falling car. However, if you were to compare yourself to the ground, then NO, you don't appear to be traveling up, because your overall speed, due to the falling car's velocity combined with your weak jump, you still are falling down toward the ground.

Using Newton's 3rd, you, relative to the car's frame of reference, will be going upward for a brief moment. At the same time, the extra push you give the car will make it fall briefly a little bit faster. There's just one little catch....the car's frame of reference is falling @ a rate of 9.8 meters per second per second. Meaning, even if, relative to the car, you're traveling upwards at 3 mph, your frame is still speeding to a quick death. Add your speed to the frames, and you get a negative number. So, unfortunately, rescuing yourself off of a falling car by jumping upward at the last minute is generally not a good idea.
Oh well.....

Why is a car falling?? Makes no sense. Well, the actual question should be defined by the point of reference. Any answer is possible.

You could. But if you are of ordinary strength, you would have to kick quite soon after the car starts to fall, before its velocity has gotten too high.

if you "kick off" a couple milliseconds after the car starts faling ... yes
if you wait more than a second, probly not ...
depends on the length of time the car is in free-fall and the leg-strength of the jumper

It must be true, Bugs Bunny was able to do it all the time. :)
You will slow your descent slightly and increase the speed of the car just as slightly, but it will not be enough to make up for the distance you have fallen while jumping.

objects fall at 10 meters per seconds, you'd have to match that to temporarily hover, which no one is strong enough to do.
