Tell me about your crappy job. Could be crappy for any reason. I work nights. I have 2 Bachelor's Degrees. I should have a sweet 9-5 in my opinion. Instead I work 10-12 hours a day in the evening. The pay is decent, but not worth 50-60 hour weeks in my book. I don't know why I still work there. Someone tell me how crappy their job is so I don't feel so bad!

I have a bachelors degree in fire and safety engineering technology with a concentration in Industrial Safety, I'm supposed to be making about 90-125k a year.

However, I've been a firefighter for about 5 years now and I love doing that so it's what I pursued. I used to be a municipal firefighter but there's not much money in that and I had a problem with one of my battalion chief's so I left.

Now I'm and Industrial Firefighter/Security Guard for a plastics plant making $12 an hour working swing shift (One week evenings, 1 day break, 1 week midnights, 3 day break, 1 week day shift, 5 day break) and I'm the only one there with a degree. We work 44 hour work weeks and and I usually pull alot of overtime as well. But my bosses constantly lie to me, we've been through over 250 employees in less than 3 years and we get treated like crap pretty much. My position now after 8 months is a mobile (I drive a van around and escort semis and give people rides, do security checks on site and such) however because my bosses pulled one of our team members to another team and didn't give us the part timers we were promised I'm stuck working in a gate everyday and it really sucks.

Well, I've got an old crapped on story. Here's it is: Got an assignment terminated from a big temp service. They called me on Thanksgiving to let me know not to show up to work on Monday.

Strange. So I saved audio recording on computer. This gets good.

Went down to main office on that following Monday. They said things were slow. Time for unemployment, right? Wrong.

Seems one needs to call in two or three times a week, and they told the state I left. Quit. Ended up having to work in a CB shop with a drunk owner and his felon sons until things got fixed. Truck stops, armpit heaven.

P.S. I hope you have better employment laws in AZ.

Yup I have a degree in criminal justice & I work in a call center. But hey it pays the bills & I only have to work 3 days a week (unfortunately one is Sat). Which means I get to spend lots of time with my little boy.

Nights isn't so bad. I have been doing it for about 3 years now and I like it. It's not in the greatest area (South Phoenix) but it pays really well. Why can't you find a job you like, especially since you are so unhappy with your current one?

The problem in my case doesn't lie within the job. It sucks because I never get any tasks. This means I'm not needed, so as soon as my contract is up, I'm sure I'll be fired... :(
