They actually EXPLAINED this one in an issue of Action comics during the 1980's!
Apparently Supes has some powers that aren't obvious to even him and they involve his enhanced Kryptonian physiology. In this case the part we have to look at is his brain. Superman emits an ultra high frequency pulse whenever he's "Clark". It effectively causes a kind of (their words) "Super Hypnosis". He doesn't do this consciously. In fact, he didn't know he did it at all and was totally mystified as to why NO ONE had ever figured it out. Then one day he saw an artist rendering of Clark Kent. Clark looks NOTHING like Superman to any non-Kryptonian. He's doughy and slack-jawed and shorter than the Man of Steel. That's when he realized the whole "Super Hypnosis" thing. They even went so far as to say that when he's viewed from behind (meaning Superman does't KNOW you're looking at him) Clark seems "taller and broader shouldered". It was a neat touch.
They never mentionned it before or (to my knowledge) since, but that was the official DC explanation.
Other people have also used his mental powers as an explanation for his heat vision and flight.
I'm sorry if I'm killing a hundred good jokes by answering this seriously, but I thought there was an off chance you'd really want to know the answer. That's it.

It's more than just wearing the glasses while acting meek and mild-mannered coupled with the "super-hypnotism".
Superman also slouches a bit to create a perceived difference in height to make Clark shorter and uses a slightly higher pitched voice instead of his own/natural deeper tenor.

Beside the glasses, apparently Clark and Superman have their hair parted on opposite sides. Anyways, Clark is the polar opposite of Superman. He's weak, cowardly, and shy. Superman is strong, brave, and confident. I can see how no one would guess that Superman is Clark Kent on his off time.

You know nothing silly!
Don't you know as soon as you put on glasses it changes your entire appearance?
When I put on glasses people ask for for my autograph thinking I am Al Roker. (I am white and not fat)
Don't criticize Superman. He knows what he is doing. Except for the whole red and blue tights thing ....
Why don't superheros wear jeans or maybe scrubs?

that way movie will just end
i mean he will either lose his job and be a dedicated superhero
if he continues with his job he will have people around him
and people will ask him tolaunch satellites on himself, get there kids free flying ride around the globe
so its better that the people are dumb otherwise we will have to see an amusement park called SUPERMAN
