I feel so sorrowful about all the people being killed. War is a failure of diplomacy, and nobody wins. But now that the war is on between Israel and Hezbollah, how will it be possible for Israel to kill only Hezbollah forces and not innocent people? Don't they hide themselves and their armaments in amongst the ordinary citizens of the country?

Israel does everything reasonable to minimize civilian casualties, including dropping leaflets warning residents to get out of areas about to be bombed.
Hezbollah and Hamas want to MAXIMIZE civilian casualties on both sides. (Hey, how come no one in Israel ever received a warning leaflet from the Hezbollah?)
And once you decide to hide missiles in your house for one of these Jihad cults, you give up your status as a "civilian".

There is no real way that I can make you feel good about a war going on. You should feel bad. I feel bad. Especially since Israel is our ally. And they really are acting over the top. You're going to destroy an entire country's way of life just so you can smoke out a political party? And when I say a political party I mean just that. Hezbollah is not a 'terrorist organization' that we havee been led to believe. It is a political party, with Democratically elected members in government. I feel sorry for these people in Lebanon who have to live through this kind of destruction. The truth is that Israel is trying to stop out an ideollgical stance, and you can't control what people think no matter what. It's similar to us storming into Iraq. Iraq had nothing to do with the attacks on 9/11. We overreacted, And if we thought of these in-state 'terrorists' as revolutionaries that are trying to change the state of oppression that they live in, that brings up the real important question.
If everything that you believe in is wrong, could you accept the truth?

to Brad T, you're one angry person that seem to have a black shaddow over everything you see. how about when israel kill palastine ppl and take them out of their homes and hold them as prisoners.. how come the word never made a comment!! dont you dare talk like israel is a peaceful country! never was and never will be!
as an answer to the original question. i think israel can strike hezbollah without killing innocents. for a start, they can hirt south of lebanon only, where most hezbollah are, instead of going around and striking the whole country! but i really doubt that's what israel wants to do. i actually have no idea what israel wants exactly! they say they want to strike hezbollah bt they're not really. sure they are some hezbollah between citizens and innocent ppl, but i can't see how shooting the airport of lebanon is a way of striking hezbollah! god help lebanon if ppl won't!

It's not very possible at all. For one thing Israel is the the Conquerer (figuratively, I know they aren't trying to conquer anything) and Hezbollah is the Conquered. Sun Tzu made a good point when he said, "The Conquerer must triumph; the Conquered need only survive." Israel is trying to fight an urban geurilla war with a force who is trained specifically for that purpose. It is regrettable that civilians have come under fire, and to be honest I think Israel could be doing a lot more to prevent so many civilian deaths.
They are also under a lot of pressure from Syria, who has said that if Israel tries to occupy Lebanon, Syria will not stand by and watch. Weird coming from Lebanon's fomer occupyers, I know.
So basically when you're fighting an invisible enemy in a limitless battleground, there's bound to be more collateral damage. It's sad but true.

Hezbollah's bases are in outposts along the Israeli-Lebanese border. They are in hilly, non inhabited areas that are far from civilians. Israel could easily hit these targets, but they have not been successful. Instead they bomb cities.
It should be said that Hezbollah does have offices in these cities, but these are part of Hezbollah's civilian wing (they are not just a militant group). This however, even if they were legitimate targets, does not justify bombing airports, residencial areas and bridges.

When the arab terrorists attack Israel, bomb them, behead people, kill children, launch missles at them, kill civilians, the world says NOTHING!
When Israel finally retaliates, all of a sudden, there is a need for diplomacy and to end the violence before civilians get killed.
Guess what? There are no innocent muslims in that area. Who voted in the terrorist organization HAMAS in palestine? The civilians. They are not innocent.
There are three kinds of muslims:
1. Terrorists
2. Women who give birth to terrorists.
3. and kids who grow up to be terrorists.

even as one man or woman dies in Israel, it is sufficient to kill each and every man or woman contained in the rustic that attacked. look at how Israel treats the total West economic organization and and all of Gaza. thoroughly is going against the United international locations. it is obtrusive that Israel needs conflict and a conflict is what Israel receives. yet do not pass crying if one extra Israeli civilian is killed, because the bloodbath it is being placed on Lebanon gained't pass down and not using a wrestle.
