Why is it so hard for guys to understand what women are trying to tell them?

So they being deliberately obtuse, or do they really not get it?

I don't expect men to read my mind, becuase that would be unreasonable. All I ask is that they pay SOME attention to what I am saying.

Yes, women do use non-verbal language, but SO DO MEN, and WE GET IT!!!

BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO LISTEN!!!! You could tell them exactly what you want them to do and they won't understand. Then they will turn around and be like why don't you just tell me what you want. I'm starting to think that the world would be better without most of them....(and yes I'm talking to you, mister "I love you, but I'm NEVER there!!!!" thanks for breaking my heart!!!!!) :`(

Well, I might be so bold as to pose a question in return...If it seems to be the general consensus that we really are just THAT stupid, why continue to try to communicate in the same way, and expect a different result? Hmm. I mean, if you know we're not bright enough to get it, why not just "dumb it down" for us? But seriously, I honestly believe, that although yes, both men and women both use non-verbal language, men tend to be more straightforward with and about things (and no, not everything revolves around sexual desires), whereas women do expect a certain amount of, ok, "mindreading" for lack of better term. We absolutely do communicate and understand and view and interpret things differently, and just because we are not always in understanding of one another, it doesn't make any one of us, male or female any less than or stupid by any means. JUST DIFFERENT!! All individuals have their strengths and weaknesses about them, and often they complement each other, and quite well. Sometimes not. However, I was of the belief that the days of generalizations and criticisims of people solely based on physical characteristics and/or differences were supposed to be long since over. Let's not perpetuate it here.

Guys may not be in the same frequency as women in many things vice versa. Be it speech, use of words, lingo etc. Some guys shy away from reality when it come to especially long term relationship. Women likes commitment and security and they are do not go round the bushes about it. On the other hand, they feels inappropriate to put the first step. So, they try to do it indirectly and got so aggitated that the guys don't get the message. Whatever it is, if you like the guy, just tell him directly in simple words. It is your life you are talking about.

I recently read one of those "men's advice to women" kind of things and one of the little sayings told women to just say what it is that you want to say and don't think that men should get the hint.

They are just that dumb. They don't want to "get it" so they don't even try.

The mind of a man stops before it gets to the root of the situation. It doesn't complete the thought process. Don't expect it to do any differently when you are trying to communicate with them!

Because you women are long winded and base what you say on "reading between the lines" or other vague crap. Women use body language or non-verbal gestures to get their point across. This works for other women, but men want PLAIN ENGLISH, TO THE FRIGGIN' POINT, AND STOP SCREWING AROUND.

If you can't do that, then forget it, it must not be that important.

The little bit of tissue that connects the right part of their brains to the left part is much thinner and smaller than the same tissue in a woman's brain. They are obtuse by design sadly.

The only thing that truly triggers a guys brain is sex. Everything swings from a sexual pendalum -- every answer, every mood, every desire, every action, every reaction.

Women are a whole different breed when it comes to thinking. There are relationships, outcomes, emotion, feeling, depth, possibilities and love swirling around in each thought.

Guys find it hard to understand what women are trying to tell them because they are not women therefore they have different views of life but they compliment each other.
So lets appreciate eachother's weakness and strenght

I honestly think that a lot of them just really don't get it. This happens with my bf and I and I have to end up sitting down with him and explaining it all out slowly and thuroghly. But we always work it out in the end.
