Some of these answers are really out there. No they were in two different places, came to power at two different times and had two very different and distinct cultures. The Aztecs were war-like, practiced human sacrifice and took slaves. They lived in the area of Central America of present day Mexico. The Incas were peaceful builders and craft makers and weavers. They lived on the Pacific Coast of South America in and around the Andes Mountains. They were mainly peaceful though they did conquer some smaller tribes assimilating them into their own. The Incan Culture was older than the Aztec Culture. It lasted from around 1200 to 1550 A.D., and the Aztec Culture lasted from around 1325 to 1525 A.D.

About as related as the French and the Albanians.
Also, everyone below me (save for sir john) seems to be a total moron. Aztecs were in central Mexico and Incans were in the South American Andes. They were geographically and culturally different. Also, they were Amerindians, not Hispanics. Geez, Lou-freakin'-ise...
