I love Koalas, I collect them (not real ones). I know in Australia
they are trying to keep the population up. Koalas are diminishing
believe it or not because eucalyptus trees are dwindling. I know that they are tagging them so that they are able to do a closer research on them.

I'm a lover of koalas, and have heard that they are trying to save the gumtree (eucalyptus) forests, trying not to build developments too close to areas heavily populated by koalas and also making motorists aware that they are out there on many country and urban roads. It is truly sad that they are endangered, but mankind is trying their best to make sure they will not go extinct.

I live in australia-
We:
Breed them in captivity and release them into national parks
Plant more Eucalyptus trees in our national forests
Are currently researching a vaccine for a disease very similar in appearance to mange, that is currently killing our koalas.
Raise awareness and run programs to help save our koalas

That's all I can think of at the moment
