I can see it as no other reason then people simply don't know what's it's like to not have any rights, to not have the ability to question their government and have laws changed. We in America take too much for granted. It'd serve us all well to spend a year abroad, walk in someone elses' shoes, or lack of shoes.

Unfortunately there isn't a good reason. However at present the US has a Republican government who are using homosexuality as a diversion tactic from other activities and issues going on. Their opinion is 'Let's rile up the masses on this issue, that has no consequence whatsoever to our foreign policy, so people are too busy responding to that to respond to anything else'.

Yeah. because us gays did that. It for sure wasn't executed by a immediately baby-kisser with a seven twelve months previous daughter. boost up. if you're no longer stoning disrespectful toddlers, or insisting rapists marry their victims, then per chance you mustn't be telling others what to trust. You for sure do not take the bible at face value so stop being a hypocrite and enable someone have their own faith and own interpretation.

There is a Christian/Muslim/Jewish Extremist element that wants to stomp out all non-procreative sex. GAYS are obvious targets, keeping their precious sperm from becoming more people. These so called pro-lifers are against any sex that does not result in more babies being hatched. They will not be happy until the population of the Earth is a hundred billion at which point the masses will have to resort to cannibalism to survive.

Because people don't realize that the man who fills up on twinkies all night long in gluttony, is just as bad as the two men truely in love. Yeah, I do believe it's a sin, but as humans we all sin, and God treats it the same in the end. So if the fat man gets in, why not the gay couple. Hmm?

People don't understand it. Homophobes are obsessed with homosexuality but are afraid to acknowledge those feelings because they don't understand homosexuality. Also, people want to make homosexuality seem to be a choice because if people choose to be gay...you can blame them for it. What's better than having someone to blame for something.

They don't. Its the majority of conservative politicians who's base is right-wing Christians and far-right hate groups. If the Republicans had any balls they would start representing the people of this country .. what really matters: jobs, health care, education, etc.

I think it is not only religion, but fear of what they don't know. People that have not (knowingly) been around homosexuals fear them. They either believe that it is 'contagious', 'morally depraved', or will be the end to reproduction...All of which seem silly to me. When adults pass these ideas down to their children and religion as well as current politics support it, ignorance prevails.

Americans have free speech therefore homosexual issues are brought to the forefront and discussed rather than being stuffed in closet.

It's kind of funny in a way. When I went to school, we learned that many people moved to America to escape religious persecution in Europe.

Now we know why they were persecuted ... they couldn't stop trying to tell other people how to live, all the time!!

(Hey you! YEAH YOU! Get that LOG outta your OWN eye!)
