Why is is that so many people accept that destiny is out of their hands?
Many people say things like "What will be, will be", "my destiny is already written", etc, etc
The way I see it, your path is determined by the choices you make and, yes, some of these choices are hard. Do people who say this use it as a cop out not to make the hard decisions and thereby not accept responsibility for their own actions?
Some people choose to live their life like a leaf on the wind, blowing wherever "destiny" leads them, when they sometimes know that they have picked the easier of two paths
This is not a Christian question, it's a general spiritualist one, so please don't substantiate your comments with biblical passages.
Thanks and look forward to your thoughts

well i think you're right that we make our own decisions
but some people may argue that it is destiny that makes us choose our decisions
like the way we were raised brought some certain values or morals to us so we make decisions the way we want, hence that is destiny I guess
i agree with you that we make our own decisions, but I also believe in destiny because it keeps me wonder and instills some hope for me in the future

Destiny isn't wrote in stone, but I believe Fate is. Our destiny can be changed by our actions/reactions in life.
Some people seem not able to take their life into their own hands .
There are times that I feel Fate involved in my life and I feel that there is nothing I can do about it, sometimes I feel that this may be Karma from a previous life. It's not like I use this as an excuse. Because every time I feel 'knocked down', I pick myself up, dust myself off and jump right back into the flow (sometimes slower than other times).
I'll make my decisions in life and stand by then for good or bad.

I agree with you 100%. I often look back on my life and wonder what kind of life I would be leading now if I had made different choices in the past. I am thankful for the choices I have made, because if I hadn't made them, I would not have had my son. People often assume thier lives are already "planned out" for them, and that they will end up in the hands of destiny no matter what they may choose. If this is true, then why did god grant us with the right of choice?

There is no such thing as destiny, and some people rely on the concept as a Crutch, so to speak, since it's easier for some people to, for example, let themselves go, and be a lazy bastard, and get fat, and call it Destiny, rather than go on a diet. (Bad example, I know, but I think you'll understand the concept.)
There is no such thing as destiny.

In the event that you fallow the signals presented in this system you will work on most of the aspects of vertical leaping, you'll saves your own time by preventing inadequate practices and focusing only on which really works and the truly important, the program will help you add as much as 15 inches to your straight!

There is no such thing as destiny. I do believe that God has a plan for us but it isn't the same as what they call destiny.
Your life is shaped by your own consciousness. You decide what you are going to do. The better prepared you are, the better you will do.

If you surrender your mind to your Higher Self then you will make the best choice for yourself and then life seems to move 'like a leaf on the wind'!

Desire is destiny. Why do you make the choices you make? Desire. Do you control your desire? You are controlled by it. Even by your desire not to be controlled. Ultimately the strongest desire within you wins out. That is your fate.
