saw on documentary the other day , the US tested under water A-bomb and sanked hundred of ships, did they ever get back to the Island?

No, they were relocted to other islands. It wasn't a huge number of people. It's a good question if they were willing to go or not as they were compensated and the trend at the time was for people from the smaller atolls to move to larger communities to get an ecucatione etc. In any case they weren't given a choice.
