I see them in the bathroom all the time and the freak me out so bad. My parents scared the heck out of me with them growing up (all in good fun), but now I'm really terrified of them. We aren't dirty people, we don't leave wet towels or dirty clothes on the floor, but they keep popping up.

Also:
- Is there a good way to get rid of them? We've had the exterminator come out twice, and they're still all over.
- Is there something we're doing wrong that attracts them?

Yes they can. I have been pinched by a few in my life time. There are chemicals on the market that are sprinkled outside but for inside use I wouldn't recommend it. Check out inside pesticide if you have an Inter-mountain Farmer store in your area. If you have children be careful. Start outside. They are probably getting in from an outside source.

Here is a link for step-by-step instructions on how to get rid of earwigs by eHow.com. Here is step #1, which may answer your question about attracting them: Eliminate hiding places. Search out and remove damp, dark hiding places such as leaf debris, wood piles, upturned pots and underneath stepping stones. This step alone will help more than anything else you can do. Good luck!
