I have a Toshiba Satellite P35-S6292. Today a white strip appeared on my screen and wont go away. It's about 1.5 inches thick and runs from the top of my screen, down to the bottom. All I could think to do is update the display driver. But that didnt work.

Any ideas?

That sounds like the computer screen has burned out. There is no fixing that.

This is called tab seperation. There is no tube in the LCD, so a tube can't go out, not sure where that came from.

But, yes you can replace the screen. If it is under warranty, call Toshiba and have it replaced. If, however, it is not, they will charge you around $700-$900 and then press you to buy a new laptop for a few hundred dollars more. That is how the laptop makers generate more money.

Call or visit http://www.screentekinc.com and get your screen for a fraction of what Toshinba will charge. You can also replace the screen yourself and save a lot of time.

Good luck.

You're probably not going to like my idea, but it sounds like your diplay is "fried". I'd call a Toshiba repair center and hope that they can just replace the screen. Good luck.
