Materazzi was saying things about his mom and his sister. If I was Zidane I would have waited for the headbutt till after the game.

The reason is simple...Materazzi irrittated him...Just like normal people Zidane headbutted him..
Ifit was me at the place of Zidane I would have complained to the referee...So that I can get the cup.
Fraance would have surely got the FIFA world cup if Zidane was there...

i think that Materazzi said some offensive stuff to Zidane about his mother and his sister and Zidane was offended....his mother was in hospital that day....zidane afterwards told he should be punished, but he didn't regret what he did...
