Question

are those modeling schools like Barbizon worth the money? I've been thinking about it but i dont want to waste my cash. is there a better way to go about it?

im 17 so i would be starting late i guess you could say

Someone who was a model told me that it's only good for runway and teaching poise and posture, stuff you can learn on your own. Do some research and try to get an agent. Befriend an aspiring photographer and build a portfolio. You aren't starting too late, just keep away from anyone who thinks taking your clothes off is a good idea. Great way to destroy any chance at a career.

one of my daughter's mates went through barbizon modelling training. her family spent several thousand dollars and she never got a single modelling job offer after she was done. i have no other experience to share, but i'd say in her case it wasn't worth the money.

if I were you I'd try my best to get in to some local contests... open calls... stuff like that. those things are usually free. perhaps you'd be able to have someone give you an opinion of if you are the type of person who could model. I wish you the very best of luck. get a professional opinion or two before you sink any cash.

dob't go to modelling school
you either have it or you don't
so instead of joining a modelling school, try entering some contests and if you're good people will definitely discover you (but make sure the agency isn't phoney, cause there are lots of phoney agencies)
so keep your mind on education, you're only 17

Do you really want to take the chance of trying to become a model? tons of girls have the same dream, there are websites that tell you what weight you should be, hight,bust,legs, e.x. Its not all fun and games walking around in clothes its much more
