Hey Meko, shut up i do follow politics. And one of the main reasons Gays want marriage isnt so much to be together forever and ever. It's because you see the state gives you money for being married its called SS. If they want to be together "life partners" is an option even straight people do that. And arent i being type casted as an ignorant straight white guy, for having an opinion on type casted gays...yeah hippocrits. And the whole adoption is way worse the way you make it sound, my parents have to couples they know who have adopted succsefully several times. So i may not be gay but i can have an opinion on it just like everyone else, since whether you like it or not it does effect me. And gay guys supposedly have it harder being a gay man than a women because a man sex drive for a women is genetically stronger than a womens for a man. So maybe lesbians dont "have to be lesbians?

Straight people do not usually have strong feelings about gay people unless it is a personal issue for them - like maybe they were sexually abused by someone of the same gender as a kid or they are gay themselves and do not want to deal with it.

Why this is an issue for you at all is probably the big question here.

No. Look at the whole marriage situation and the fact that some homosexuals or lesbians get fired from their jobs all because of their sexuality.
The reason for the parades can somewhat relate to showing heir freedom, freedom of expression. African Americans did it in the 50's when they were fighting for their rights (now, it is the homosexuals fighting for their rights). There is no need for a "straight" parade mainly because heterosexuals are not persecuted for being straight. It is the norm. Don't be so cruel and ignorant.
Another thing, some homosexual families have been denied adoption all because they are gay. Why can't a gay or lesbian family care for a child? They are no different from a straight couple, but they are still casted out as dogs. You are stupid, read more politics, and then I want to hear this complete BS that "Gays are treated equal". Television shows with homosexuals are barely even on air! And if they are, it is rated R. What makes kissing someone of the same sex, different from kissing someone of the opposite gender?

This kind of stuff pisses me off; although I am not gay, the people who live here in America are uneducated, and just plainly stupid.

Gays are not treated equally. To be treated equally they would have to be given the same rights and privilleges as everyone else, and they're not. So what if there is gay day at disneyland, or that there are gay parades? There's Christmas parades, New Year's Parades, Rose Bowl Parades, Memorial Day Parade's, there's even a very fun Puerto Rican Day Parade.

They always report these parades and events on the evening news, it's never the first news report of the evening, but they add it in there to show that there is still some happiness and fun in this world.

The real question is, why do you only notice the "gay" events on the news??

No I don't think they are treated equally. If you wanted to organize a straight pride parade you could do that, so there is some equality. However, gay's cannot be married in most states, they cannot serve openly in the US military, and you never hear of straight-bashing...

I agree that the whole gay vs straight thing is overplayed on the news,. but that's because GW keeps bringing it up...

Ignorant little .......

Gay rights are civil rights that are still being fought for !! People are STILL being classed, discriminated, abused, prejudiced, on who they sleep with, not who they are.

If you think this is all just a bunch of animal excrement, then tell me this. When was the last time you heard someone say 'That's so straight", "This assignment is sooo straight", "School is so heterosexual". Never. It's always "gay this and "gay that". Why? Because society still considers "gay" to be derogate.

If you could just live a period of your life, feeling the fear, the prejudice, feeling the victimisation of what it is like to be gay in todays society STILL....if only.

No one ever has to do hear of special treatment for the majority because they make the rules. Just like you never hear of white history month. It's because attention to European and European American history is given all year round. Gays in this country pay taxes like everyone else, yet they can't marry, have trouble adopting, and can't make life and death decisions for their partners. That's bull. Especially when our system provides for separation of church and state and the ONLY reason as to why people want to deny gays of certain rights is based on religious convictions.

They HAVE to put themselves in the limelight so that the public will understand what is going on and react accordingly. After they are truly equal within society, they will fall out of the public eye. How often these days do you see a woman on a stage burning her bra, or a group of native irish petitioning for employment in New York? Straight white men already have all the equality they need.

Homosexuals get parades from people that try to balance the society because of the lack of support that homosexuals receive. I guess people think that giving them parades and special days will make up for not being able to participate in marriage. Homosexuals are definitely not treated the same as heterosexuals.

No, I think they are treated better than the average individual because they make such a big ******* deal about being gay. If every straight person made a huge fuss every time they were not treated respectfully, they would have ******* parades and **** celebrating people the way the they were designed to be. heterosexual

But they aren't equal. They can't get married, gay couples can't adopt or have foster children.

Name me one time as a straight person you've ever been denied something FOR BEING straight.
Gay people have been denied things for being gay, therefor are treated unequal
