Use your own scale at home.
Just weigh yourself first, (and note your own weight), then, pick up the bag in question and get back on the scale.
Take this last weight and subtract your own weight from it and that's how much the bag weighs.

Since it must be under 50 lbs, usually you can weigh yourself (on a home scale) with and without the luggage. Also, if your luggage is weighed at the airport, and is over weight, they will let you haggle between luggages before making final decision. Then, you won't have to pay the $50 fee.

The bathroom scale is the best way to weigh your luggage before you travel.

The scales they have at the airport are much different then what we use at home so best bet is to weigh at home and add 6-7lbs to that and thats ur current bag weight.
